Position Summary

To direct, assure, and perform all work involving the installation and maintenance of the cooperative’s control, metering and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI).

Reports to: System Operations Construction Manager

Directs: Utility Service Technicians

Responsibilities & Authorities

• Direct assigned personnel and perform all functions necessary to configure, install, calibrate, test and repair all types of the cooperative’s metering equipment and devices.
• Installation of metering, including current transformers, potential transformers, test blocks, isolation relays, meter bases/cabinets and associated wire-ways.
• Write/create programs and program single and poly phase meters for revenue billing.
• Program meter endpoints for TS2 communications.
• Assist Manager of District Operations and Engineering in the selection of equipment and assignment of manpower.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs made and work performed for billing corrections or disputes.
• Set up new accounts, including communications medium, for large power or aggregate net metering in MV90.
• Monitor MV90 & verify these reports daily.
• Verify accuracy of data retrieved by MV90.
• Assist Manager of District Operations and Engineering department in developing project timelines and defining project tasks.
• Handle consumer requested meter test in the field at members' metering sites.
• Interact with members about meter functions/operations.
• Provide in-field technical support and instruction to Utility Service Technicians and contractor personnel.
• Monitor contractor personnel to ensure they adhere to safe working practices and cooperative expectations for quality.
• Assist Control Communication Technicians as directed.
• Responsible for vehicle, tools and other SVEC equipment assigned to their use.
• Assist in special projects as necessary.

Job Related Qualifications

Training and Experience

Minimum of 4 years of experience in power distribution industry. Minimum of four 4 years of experience in the electric utility industry.
