General Description:The IT Technology Support Technician will serve as a member of the campus IT staff to support faculty, staff, and students. The incumbent must be prepared to work with co-workers to complete tasks.Duties and Tasks:To support faculty, students and staff at the Campus. (This position will cover day and evening hours, Saturdays possible).Position will be required to assist faculty, staff, and students with any computer/laptop problems, classroom AV issues and login credentials.Position will support faculty, staff, and students with laptop/cell phone wireless setup and login credentials.Flexibility and willingness to take on new projects, strong verbal skills and ability to communicate with faculty, students and staff, and assist IT staff with all desktop support tickets and help calls.Assist with inventory tracking.Perform and complete technical tasks with minimal supervision.Perform hardware and software installations and upgrades.Support Windows and Apple operating systems and software applications.Provide technical support and maintenance to various technology related to hardware, software and peripherals that is found in the classrooms.
Required KSA's:Proven ability to provide technical support to desktop computers, peripherals, and the technology installed in classrooms.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software problems with desktops and laptops.Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with technical and non-technical personnel.Proven ability to plan and complete technical tasks with minimal supervision.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Must be able to work a flexible schedule.Strong customer service; working knowledge of Windows OS, Mac OSX,Microsoft Office and computer hardware and printers.Additional duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentSome experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting problems with PC and/or Apple computers including computer hardware and software.Some previous customer service experience
