Are you tired of working weekends or night shifts?  Labcorp has an opportunity for a qualified MLT (or Med Tech) in Salem, VA to work Monday through Friday, day shifts and save your evenings and weekends to spend with friends and family!  Our Salem laboratory performs clinical testing in Chemistry, Hematology and Coagulation.  In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, rotating 7:30am - 4:30pm/ 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions
• Evaluate specimens and make technical decisions regarding testing
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care

Requirements:

• Associate's degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician (qualified Medical Technologists will be hired into a Technologist position)
• 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred
• ASCP or AMT preferred.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
